Our Story

Assess Threat Pty Ltd (also known as Vardogyir) was based on the experiences of the two founders in delivering terrorism and security risk consulting and assessment services to critical infrastructure and major events. The founders were early pioneers in the development of terrorism response strategies and plans for crowded places, even before the national strategy for protecting crowded places was released by the Australian Government.

In 2014, the founders developed and implemented a comprehensive terrorism preparedness strategy for one of the largest mass gathering events in the southern hemisphere. Their work was recognised by two industry awards: Finalist, Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence (2015) for Special Security Event and Finalist, Outstanding Security Performance Awards (2015) for Outstanding Security Consultant.

The founders developed a prototype risk scoring system in 2015, drawing on their experience in implementing a terrorism preparedness review for stadiums and places of mass gathering in Western Australia. Recognising the limitations of qualitative risk scoring when it came to complex risks such as terrorism, Assess Threat was formed to pioneer the development of data-driven approach to scoring terrorism risk. Leveraging big data analytics, real-time data scraping and machine learning techniques, Assess Threat released Terrorism Risk Assessment (Tera).

With hostile vehicle attacks increasingly prominent from 2016 onwards, Assess Threat further developed Automated Hostile Vehicle Vector Analysis (Ahvva), a patent-pending technology that uses geo-spatial data to rapidly assess and model potential hostile vehicle attack vectors.
